This clip is “just the banshees,” without an accompanying 1/10th speed drone. It cuts some four minutes of frankly repetitive music, by squeezing out the interludes between patterns. Download (18:06, 42MB). The drone tempo was slowed from 60 BPM down to 6, after which the voice effects were added. The note spacing conforms to two fifths stacked vertically (i.e., scale degrees 1 – 5 -10). All very Bartókian. I prefer this version, myself, and have deleted the longer audio file. I decided the drone didn’t contribute much other than to stretch out the running time unnecessarily.
The voices are routed in Reason through two levels of reverb (one a very spacious one), an echo module, and a digital delay. Thence to Adobe Audition for application of a “car audio” filter setting and normalization to -3 dB.
