This is particularly attractive as an uncompressed video. Converting to GIF introduces the usual problems with dithering and posterization, although if you click on it to view at full size, it’s not dreadful — it’s the old, reliable 640 x 480 pixel VGA format.
The MPEG version weighs in at about 5 megabytes and is the same size, but sharper. It doesn’t loop, of course, but looks really great when displayed in full-screen mode.
The music is the first page of Bartok’s Piano Sonata from 1926.
The little red sphere’s orbital path is a little ragged. Getting the keyframes to agree with each other at the beginning and end of a sequence requires a bit of work. I’m not at all sure what caused it to spin unexpectedly toward the bottom of the path. I didn’t intentionally alter its local orientation.
I have a thing for bright, highly saturated colors. Gee, does it show?
