This really needs to be played through a sound system, rather than through a tablet or smartphone. At the 3:00 minute mark, I add low brass pedal tones, then double and triple them at octaves. A LOT of bass goin’ on. By the 5:00 minute mark, the piece is basically pegging the VU meter, so caution is advised if one is using headphones.
At about 01:52, I toss in a little nod to Ferde Grofé and his Grand Canyon Suite (the theme from “On the Trail” that appeared in cigarette commercials back in the day, but with augmented fourth and minor seventh).
I can’t write solos to save my life,* so I rely on the Matrix pattern generator to add some variety to the trumpet.
